A Glimpse into the World of Cranes
The multi-store buildings,
sky-high skyscrapers, bridges and roads over the vast stretch of sea and other
such marvelous wonders of architecture could not have been thinkable and
workable in the absence of this huge mechanism, referred to as the crane. A
crane is a machine that performs the functions of lifting, lowering and
horizontally moving loads and cargo. This is possible because of the hoisting
mechanism that is integrated into this machine. The operations of lifting and
lowering of loads is mainly performed by a crane operator who is facilitated
with a Crane Joystick Control.A gantry crane is a type of an
overhead crane. It is supported by freestanding legs that move on wheels.
Gantry cranes come in big and small sizes depending upon the utility and size
of the industries. Gantry cranes are available in different variants. These
being: full gantries, semi-gantries, portable gantries and adjustable gantries.
A Portable Gantry Crane
is a small and light weighted crane system that can be moved easily to
different locations of the plant. Its portability is supported by the rubber
wheels on which it runs. When not in use, these cranes can be stored easily
thus saving the floor-space. This variant of gantry crane is useful when you
want the crane to reach to all the corners of your plant. It can be used for
lifting materials and moving them, for pulling motors, equipment’s and other
heavy machinery. The working of this crane is primarily dependent on the Crane Joystick Control. Joysticks
and joystick stations are widely used for lifting cranes and hoists especially
in the industrial and construction sectors. A joystick is capable of
controlling the gantry cranes, track cranes and jib cranes.Quite similar to the crane is the Electric Chain Hoist
which is used for lifting and lowering materials. Unlike the crane that is
operated via a joystick, an electric chain hoist is integrated with an electric
motor and controller that controls the speed of the hoist and lifts and lowers
the materials. These hoists are most commonly used for industrial production and at small machine shops.
